ASTM D6641 Standard Test Method for Compressive Properties of Polymer Matrix Composite Materials Using a Comined Loading Compression (CLC) Test Fixture

Scope: 
This method is performed by applying combined end-loading and shear-loading using a combined loading compression fixture.  This standard is designed to analyze the compression properties of polymer matrix composite laminates employing either multidirectional or unidirectional fibers or other comparable materials. 

Procedure:
The specimen is placed inside the test fixture and bolts tightened to a specific torque.  It is then placed within between two platens in the testing machine and a strain measuring device may be attached.  The specimen is then compressed to failure.

Laminate compressive strength, laminate compressive modulus, compressive Poisson’s ratio by chord method
